Abraham Lincoln is one of the most famous historical figures in American history. When he was a child his family has been plagued with the inability to fight diseases, viruses, FLUs, etc. His mother, Nancy, was thirty four when she died of a milk sickness, and young Abe was only nine at the time. Small sicknesses and colds could have been deadly at the time due to lack of medicine. Shortly after his father Thomas Lincoln marries Sarah Johnston, whom Abe is very comfortable with, due to the fact that she preached education and also helped out Abe with his arguments with his father. While the economy back then was incredible, Lincoln didn’t receive any luck and eventually sold out his share of the store. Later, he was in debt very badly and worked many jobs including postmaster, shopkeeper and splitting logs of wood. Soon after, he began to further his education by becoming a lawyer. Before presidency, Abraham was a part of the Illinois legislature party. In 1845, he won the election for congressman. He served a one year term and decided to run for senator.
