George Orwell’s political novel, Animal Farm portrays Russia. It shows us that people and animals can only tolerate a certain amount of mistreatment, which can make them angry and this in turn can cause uprisings. Animal Farm highlights the dangers of power and control and manipulation of trust. Today, Russia is a multi-party state, but in the novel Animal Farm, it was a total regime. We can compare Vladimir Putin, to Napoleon the pig. Both of them want power so badly. Napoleon, in Animal Farm went against the seven commandments and his values and attempted to kill his best friend, Snowball, who had threatened his power. We can see this in Putin who was in the KGB and left when he got appointed to be the deputy mayor of St. Petersburg. In
