A part-time job shouldn't be a stressful nightmare, but it also depends on the people you work with. In my instance, the manager of my part-time employment made my life miserable. They would not stop yelling at me and critiquing everything I did. It was only subway as if the customers would notice one piece of ham a centimetre too far to the right. My boss would constantly use his privilege to make my life wretched. The Privilege of power corrupts, but that's not entirely true. Power is the ability to control or make decisions that influence or affect others. The corruption of power is when someone has power and, they use it to influence or affect others negatively. William Shakespeare even wrote a play about the corruption of power, Macbeth. Macbeth said in the first act, “Stars, hide your fires; Let not light see my black and deep desires,". He was brought into the position to be second in line for king. Lady Macbeth convinced him to do the unthinkable, which he did because his wife abused her status in their relationship, corrupting Macbeth and making him a terrible king with extreme guilt. The quote portrays his internal conflict and the degradation of his character resulting in his obsession with power. It demonstrates his readiness to go to any lengths to obtain and maintain governance, even if it means masking his true nature. Macbeth had an opportunity and went for it. Loki is someone corrupted by power. Similarly to Macbeth, they were both second in line for the throne and both warriors. Loki said, "I was born to rule, and with each taste of power, it consumed me, transforming my noble intentions into twisted desires." he was written to be a villain but wasn't always. He did have gracious intentions, but when he got hold of his power, it engulfed him turning him into something he was not. Loki wanted to prove he was worthy and better than Thor (his brother). Loki gained power through his confidence and by scaring people (this was mentioned when talking about what makes a Loki tick in ‘Loki’). A common opinion about Loki is that he is selfish and childish because of the way he grew up, being boundless and having impossible capabilities. In the series ‘Loki’, Loki learnt what the greatest power in the universe was, which his being so corrupt surprisingly didn't make him want it more, but made him not like the idea of power because it held him back.
