Abuse of power can be seen in the film V for Vendetta through restrictions set for the population of England. To remain in control governments use restrictions to limit the freedom of individuals as to stop them being in control of their own lives. Norsefire set restrictions to control the people claiming it is for their “own safety.” Authorities use this as a weapon to frighten the masses and make them feel like they need the protection of their government. Knowing this, V explodes the Old Bailey as a symbol of hope for the future of and resistance towards the Governments control.
