Hello Students in Sections 1 and 2, welcome to class! I am Dr. Wright, your Academic Assistant. Dr. Audrey Bowser is the professor of record for this course but I am your first point of contact for the next seven-weeks. I have worked as an Academic Assistant and Adjunct Instructor for Arkansas State University and other higher education institutions for several years. However, my work in education actually began years ago when my siblings, friends and I would "play school" - I always insisted on being the teacher because I was fascinated with the idea of having a red pen and lots of papers to mark up (I mean grade). I have grown and learned a great deal since those childhood games but I have never abandoned my love and passion for education and for teaching in particular. And while it was never my desire during those days to be the principal, I did eventually become an elementary school principal. In addition, I have worked as an Assistant Principal, Athletic Director, and Headstart Administrator. However, of the various jobs that I have held in education, my most rewarding has been, and continues to be "teacher" (with or without a red pen). I feel like I have done every job that can be done in a school - including mopping the floors and shoveling snow. I've worked in Kansas and Illinois - lots of snow! …show more content…
I earned a Bachelor's Degree from Wiley College, a small Methodist School in Texas, a Master's Degree from Northwestern State University and a Doctorate Degree in Educational Leadership from University of Phoenix; in addition, I attended Southern University, University of North Texas, and the University of Illinois
