Cadet Chief petty officer is one of the hardest accomplishments you can achieve while being in the Navy Junior Reserve Officer Training Course. Cadets who achieve this rank are required to demonstrate a high level of dedication, professionalism, responsibility, and most importantly the ability to lead by example. I am Cadet Jack Porter and I believe that I possess the skills and qualities to achieve the rank of cadet chief petty officer. Dedication is one of the most important aspects of becoming a chief. Set clear goals and objectives before every practice for what the team wants to achieve. This will help everyone stay motivated during practice and not be left confused. 2 Plan ahead: we should incorporate warmups, cool down stretches and practice the routine every day to see where we are at each practice. This ensures we get the most out of each practice and that little time is wasted. 3 We should work on receiving feedback and working on teamwork. Drill is all about teamwork so every day we should be supporting each other. All of us should be lifting each other up and never bring each other down. For my last point which is the most important organization. Overall, improving drill team practice requires a combination of clear communication, planning, organization, and most importantly teamwork. I believe if we utilize this we can take our drill team to the next level. Moving on I want to talk about my personal goals and unit goals. My Long term personal goal is to graduate from the U.S Naval Academy and become an officer in the Marine Corps. My short-term goal is to improve my grades to all A's. My all-time unit goal is to take the drill team to nationals. With the help of some cadets. I strongly believe we all possess the leadership skills to take this drill team from Yorktown Virginia and kick some butt at
