Alan Turing, born June 23rd, 1912 in Maida Vale, London, England, has been noted as the father of the modern computer. He single-handedly created a test for artificial intelligence, which is still used today, and a whole new field of biology. Not only has he done this, but he’s also contributed to one of the biggest feats ever to be encountered: ending World War II. In 1938, only a year after getting a PhD in cryptology and mathematics at Princeton University, he took up a full-time job at Bletchley Park to help decipher a code used by the Nazis programmed by a machine called the Enigma, which protected diplomatic, military, and commercial communications.
