Theodore Roosevelt Theodore Roosevelt has had many achievements and has helped the world in so many ways. Roosevelt was very persistent in every job he had, as well as his many roles in the government. He served on a police board and he was a strong supporter of the war in Spain. He had joined a group called the Rough Riders. Roosevelt mediated the Russian and Japanese war, as a result for that he won the Nobel peace prize. He pursued a good policy of enforcing all of the anti-trust laws. He was a very persistent speech maker such as, when he was shot at point blank range by a fanatic, he got back up and finish his speech. Later he died from a blood clot. He had many achievements in the government. His first achievement was when he served on the commission of the USA civil service. While there, insured strict enforcement of service laws. He served as the president of the police force board. The New York Police Department was one of the most corrupt in America; the NYPD’s history division records that Roosevelt was “an iron willed leader of unimpeachable honesty, who brought a reforming zeal to the New York City Police Commission in 1895”.
