The Scene one involves the acute patients from the previous scene who were all in the therapy session with Mac. This scene has moved on to later on in the day, with these patients playing monopoly in the tub room. Forman shows us a close up shot of Mac sitting in a wooden chair in the dimly lighted room with his feet up on the hydrotherapy fountain firmly leant up against the wall listening in on the game of monopoly happening in the adjacent room. Forman uses this to show the audience that Mac is this outcast in the group of patients at the mental hospital, because he sits by himself and does not interact with the other patients. Viewing a two shot with Mac and Billy Bibbit standing in front of the hydrotherapy fountain, a piece of dialogue Mac says with a smug look on his face he said “Anybody wanna bet? Huh, Chickenshits”. Mac says this with the tone of voice being very convincing to the other patients who weigh in on making bets with him from Mac putting pressure back on the patient's. Later on in the scene spontaneous fit of rage comes from Harding because of Martini not playing the board game properly. In a two shot with Harding and Taber, Forman wants to show that the few words that are yelled between the two starts verbal fight which Mac ways in on listening to the rising tension of the loud and aggressive voices heard in the scene. This is the way that Forman reminds us that these men are in a mental hospital and that these moments can happen at anytime except for this time Mac is there watching the situation evolve and with his crazy reaction of spraying everyone in the room with water, in the wide shot we see not only everyone is annoyed but they are all focus on Mac now, making him the focal point of the scene
