Statement of the Purpose This study will explore the active procrastination and resilience levels among university athletes which will be the basis in developing an adversity management program. In order to accomplish this purpose, it is necessary to:
1. Identify the profile of the respondents with regards to:
1.1. School
1.2. Sex; and
1.3. Sports.
2. Establish the mean scores in active procrastination and resilience of university athletes.
3. Determine the significant difference between the profile and established mean scores on active procrastination and resilience of the university athletes.
4. Develop a proposed adversity management program for university athletes based on the results of the study.
Scope and Delimitation
The study will utilize the descriptive-comparative research design. This includes identifying the variables: schools, sex and sports contained in the profile of the athlete students. Sports would mean the events that they participate in the competition. A purposive sampling will be employed in determining the variables based on the profile of the respondents. University athletes will have a deeper sense of awareness regarding their adaptive procrastination behavior and resilience. They will benefit from the development of the proposed adversity management program. University athletes will gain substantial knowledge on the different strategies helpful in striving to manage both the roles of being a student and an athlete. The athletes may engage in a meaningful and personal reflection in improving their behavior with regards to procrastination, resiliency, and adversity.
