Current events across the country dramatically illustrate how no one is immune to tragedies such as the Orlando, FL killings. It is happening in our schools, theaters, military bases, nightclubs and even in the workplace.
It is not only appropriate, but very important, that we all review some simple actions to take against protecting ourselves in the event that something like this occurs.

HDR has posted very resourceful links on the Employee Portal. I would encourage everyone to watch the 6 minute video, “Run, Hide, Fight – Surviving an Active Shooter Event.”
Even if you’ve seen the video before - watch it again! The video realistically shows the different scenarios that could play out in a workplace environment during an active shooter event.

Unfortunately, active shooter preparedness is becoming an essential emergency response practice for all types of organizations. In the near future HDR may hear more about “Active Shooter Training” provided to all the businesses within our building. As more is learned about that proposed training, I will pass the information on to everyone.

With the information provided on the HDR Portal and proper training, there’s a chance to prevent, or at least minimize the damage of such a tragic
