Yes, I personally agree with the author’s conclusion of 8 hours being “too much technology” for a teenager for several of reasons. Firstly, when teenagers spend 8 hours using technology every day, they miss out key activities that are more important in their lives, such as bonding with family and friends. Also, when teenagers are spending long amounts of time using technology, they reduce their sleeping time. Yes, I use “text-messaging” language when I communicate with my friends. Yes, I agree with the author’s point of view how “text-messaging” language is affecting teenager’s lives. This is because as teenagers use this “text-messaging” language more often, it influences them to use it in regular conversations and school work. This “text-messaging” language can affect teenager’s vocabulary negatively, as it will replace their proper English terms.

It contains many convenient useful features. However it also contains several flaws. In the Charon article I read, Brain Jung states an advantage of the smartphone is the ability to use the internet for quick research. With the pre-installed software applications, such as Safari and Google Chrome, one has the ability to conveniently use their smartphone as a research tool, rather than waste time by travelling to the library to get a book. On the Udemy Corporation website, Nick Tomasovic elaborates how the smartphone is beneficial due to its ability to call others. It can be useful to stay connected with family and friends and it is handy to have in times of emergencies to contact immediate help. With reminder apps that are on the smartphone, one can set certain reminders so they can do what is needed with forgetting. Many people are addicted to their smartphones that they use it while driving, and do not pay attention to the road. This can result a fatal car accident.
