At the same time, the ad has a few similar characteristics to other advertisements such as the comedy category, including famous celebrities, and aiming to generate revenue. An advertisements purpose is to capture the viewer’s attention and pursue them to go purchase the product and/or realize brand awareness. This commercial incorporated humor, celebrities, and music to point out how excellent Alexa is compared to other smart-devices. First, comedy is one of the most common and memorable genres that promoters include in their commercials. Second, including celebrities who the audience connects with is another popular source that attracts more viewers. Lastly, events in which the public can associate to is frequently used, due to the public finding themselves in the same situation and resolving their issue with the help of that item. These three points show how this advertisement is similar to the other broadcastings.
