I would like to be a prosecution lawyer for the review. First, Adam and Eve should be guilty because of their greed to be like the God. The serpent’s temptation actually woke the greed inside Eve’s mind, which reflects the human characteristics that they always want to be superior. The serpent tempted Eve by telling her that she could open her eyes and distinguish good and evil after eating the fruits of the tree of knowledge of good and evil which she and Adam were told not to eat (Genesis 3.5). Because of human instinct, Eve was curious about how being powerful and wise as the God is like, so she ate the forbidden fruit and gave one to Adam (Genesis 3.6). After they ate the fruits, they gained the power similar to those the God has. They had the ability to reproduce, which resembles how the God created lives (Genesis 4.1). They had the ability to distinguish between good and evil, so they thought they could be as wise as the God. However, men were originally made to rule lives on the earth (Genesis 1.28). Yet, they now wanted to be like the God by gaining the power after eating the forbidden fruit. They actually went beyond the limit of man and offended the God. Therefore, it is justified for the God to punish them for their greed in order to demonstrate the difference between their roles and power. …show more content…
Their ability to distinguish between good and evil is well illustrated by their reaction after eating the forbidden fruits. They hid from the God because they were ashamed of being naked (Genesis 3.8-10). When asked if they had eaten the fruits, Adam blamed Eve, while Eve blamed the serpent. They shirked their responsibility and blamed others instead of realising the sins were theirs (Genesis 3.11-13). However, they wrongly utilise the ability to distinguish what was wrong. Therefore, they denied their mistakes, which aggravated their
