Admission into the University of Florida is a catalyst to achievements and progression of ideas and knowledge and dreams and aspirations. Although it is just a degree that defines what you receive from a college education, it is the individuals you meet and connect with that create the platform of excellence that provides opportunities that contribute to a flourishing adulthood. I hope to solidify connections and experiences that permeate not only in my mind, but in those collages as well. By establishing a fluid and practical senior-freshman mentoring program I will hope to give incoming freshmen like myself a helpful edge over their coming years as a Florida Gator. Seniors have key knowledge and advice they can impart on eager willing ears that can help improve grades, increase moral, and give a strong sense of belonging that can be lost in a large school like the University of Florida. With this program you can hope to see an increase in the retention rate of freshman students which adds to the notoriety of the university. When the intention for going to college is broken down it really simmers down to how you plan to impact your home community and those who are less fortunate than yourself.
