Admissions Essay: Moving To USA

Believing in taking responsibilities for myself and for my family actually started when I moved to USA from India with my family. I didn’t care much about anything before. But as I got older and especially when I moved to USA is when everything started to change in my life.

I had finished my eights grade and was about to go to ninth grade when we moved to USA. The only reason my family moved to USA was because of me. They wanted me to have good education and have a very good life ahead. My family was really happy in India. We have been in USA for six years, and after about two years, when I was in ninth grade in USA, that is when I realized that I should be paying attention to my school and do well in my education and take some responsibilities.

Job is toughest part of my life. I started working when I was about sixteen and half years old. I have only worked at two places. I used to work in Chester, VA at Super 8 motel as a front desk clerk. I have experience working all three shifts. I didn’t have as many responsibilities as I have now when I was working at Super 8 motel. Currently I work at the Red Roof Inn motel as a night auditor. I have been working at this place for last two years. I didn’t have much responsibility about a year ago. Most of my responsibilities started when I started a college, because college tuition is not cheap. And I don’t want to tell my parents to do everything for me. I am an adult now and I should learn how to take care of my self and my family. I am still working at the Red Roof Inn as a night auditor, to basically pay for my tuition, cloths and for some fun like movies etc. Yes my parents will still help me in anything I need. But I prefer to take care of my self for the most part of my life. Yes, if I tell my parents that I need some help paying for my

It would be an easy job if somebody else would be working in place of me. The reason why I say that is because I am a college student who works over night. I go to college in the morning, sleep for couple hours before and after college, and work the night shift. So since I started my college I of course do get classwork and homework. And the only, THE ONLY time I have, to do my classwork and homework is at night when I go to my job. It is not easy to do job work and your college work while you are at your job. But I have no other choice, because I do not want to quit my job and keep taking loans for my college tuition. Loans are something that I have to pay back. So why not work right now when I can and take the least amount of loans. I think I am setting an example to my parents by taking all the responsibilities for my self, and not being dependent on them.

I also think that responsible people should always show proper manners, and show respect for others. By doing these two things the person will never be irresponsible. It is like making a very good first impression on people. Because first impression is what the other person will always remember. Always show proper manners whether you are young or old. You should always show respects to others. It is like give respect and take respect. My personal thinking is that you should always respect your
