Jackie Mutcheson once said “It takes each of us to make a difference for all of us.”, which is a quote that is dear to my heart. I believe that nothing in the world can change by just wanting to change them, you have to take the initiative to change things. This is the very reason that i'm so passionate about becoming a child developmental specialist and going into the medical field. Me being apart of the African American population, not many people expect me to have goals and aspirations or even think of myself being a successful woman. I feel like me I can inspire many children, not only African Americans, but anyone who has ever been doubted. Growing up, my mother has truly been my role model.

I work hard, day in and day out to my best abilities for not only myself, but my family. I will be attending North Carolina Central University in the fall and now I work at the Autism Society of North Carolina in Carteret County which I love it. Being apart of something so very important and just giving back puts a smile on my face everyday. The kids are truly amazing and working there has truly opened my eyes to what I want to do with my future. This is truly one of my biggest accomplishments along with graduating high school early.
Working with children and children with special needs is my passion. I like to think I make a difference in their lives, when truly they make a difference in mine. Special needs children and adults are so overlooked and misjudged. One of my main goals that I hope to accomplish with my degree in Child Development and Psychology is to help the world know more about them and grow to understand more. I hope I can make a difference in at least one person's life so they know they are just as special as anyone
