In my opinion, at that time the government wants the citizens to become numb and obey all the rules that they made. They burn books in order to control the citizens. In the article The “Final solution”by the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum it was stated, ”The SS officers pointed left to right to the victims, they did not know that individuals were being selected to live or die, babies and young children, pregnant women, the elderly, the handicapped, and the sick had little chance of surviving this first selection.” This means that when the Jews got off of the trains and trucks they were automatically selected if they were going to survive or whether they would die because of their age or on their appearances.
