Adolf Hitler, was a german politician that ended up as the Nazi Party leader. Her created Hitler youth to use education as a way to turn students into Nazis. In “Hitler Youth: Growing up in Hitler’s Shadow.” author Susan Campbell Bartolletti discusses the way Adolf Hitler used education to further Nazi ideals. Hitler changed standard textbooks into Nazi-approved ones, didn’t allow students to have their own personal ideas, and to only have teachers that taught Nazi-approved ideas.
CHAPTER ONE The Schutzstaffel Hitler 's reign of power in Germany began January 30, 1933. This was to be the beginning of one of the darkest chapters in modern history. The Schutzstaffel or what is commonly referred to as the SS, was primarily established as a protection squadron and known throughout Nazi Germany as the Black Shirts. The SS was a central organization within the Third Reich 's power structure.
Throughout the 1930’s into the 1940’s, the National Socialist German Workers' Party, more commonly known as the Nazis, ruled Germany under a totalitarian dictatorship. Almost all aspects of life in the country were controlled by the government. Under the control of Adolf Hitler, many innocent lives were lost, and the Germans living there were oblivious to the fact. In order to manipulate the country into his puppets, Hitler utilized many racist and immoral techniques to reign Germany. These methods include exploiting the weakness of the government, propaganda, and false promises.
On September 1, 1939 World War II began. Germany and the axis powers were trying to get Europe to be in Nazi control. With this came the wrath of Adolf Hitler. He believed the reason why Germany lost World War I and had a huge economic crisis was because of the Jewish population, the mentally ill, blacks, and gypsies. He believed the only way to cleanse the world and prevent that from happening again was to exterminate those people.
The Holocaust was the mass murder of millions of Jews and other religions from the Nazi regime and their collaborators (Steele 6). The Nazi’s got their power in 1933, they thought they were the “Master Race” and other’s lower than them were hated and tortured or killed (Steele 6). After the Nazi’s took power their final solution was to erase all Jews, other religions, and anyone who stood in their way (Steele 6). The Holocaust took place all over Europe but some of the main places the Holocaust took place in were Germany, Poland, and Hungary (Blohm 10), (Ghettos). People that were involved in the Holocaust were Nazis, Jews, other religions, and politicians (Steele 6-7).
The average German worker had supported Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party because both Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party had appealed to what the average German workers had wanted. After World War I, Germany had experienced a hyperinflation as a result of all the war reparations. The entire German population had become crazed as they were trying to make money in order to purchase food and other basic necessities.
The Nazi used the Great Depression as the boost to gain support from the Germans. Due to America’s depression, Germany was put into a dire state as unemployment increased, thus resulted in the Nazi gaining votes during the 1933 election. The depression caused desperation within the people that made them feel that the Weimar Republic could not look after them or the country’s financial problems. Hitler made promises to get rid of the unemployment rate, thus gaining the support of the public. Although the Great Depression was a key factor to Hitler’s rise to power but there were other causes: the German’s were looking for a saviour and Hitler happened to be that person; Hitler also played on the German’s fear factor of Communism and Communist which led him to get votes from the middle to higher class citizens by the burning of the Reichstag.
Similar to the first World War, World War II was a dispute between powers and or countries and involved the death of million of civilians and militants of those disputing countries. There are many events that have made World War II significant and i will show you in this essay. World War II started basically because of one of the most known killer in the world Adolf Hitler. His role in the Holocaust is greatly significant because of the way that he punished, treated, and through of jews using concentration camps. In concentration camps jews were gassed, imprisoned and forced to do things that they didn't want to like forced labor.
