Adrian Peterson is a professional football player for the Minnesota Vikings, and a 2 time rushing leader for the NFL. Adrian Peterson was born in Palestine, Texas where football has always been a big deal. At a young age, he was introduced to football by his father and carried his team from pop Warner, to his current career in the NFL. He has always been important to his team as a player, and also as a leader. Adrian Peterson's gifted ability and unmatched work ethic on the field is what inspired me to chose him for this project. His desire to always push through obstacles, and be the best at what he does is something about him that inspires me to try and do the same. "As he did in college, Peterson quickly proved an elite performer in the NFL. Nominally a backup, he erupted for 224 yards in his fifth game, and then set an NFL single-game record with 296 rushing yards in Week 8" (Peterson 1). By the end of the season, Peterson rushed for over 1,300 yards and scored 18 touchdowns. He earned all pro honors and won Offensive rookie of the year. In 2009, Brett favre, one of the greatest quaterbacks in nfl history joined Peterson to help bring a championship to the Vikings. After a crushing lost in the NFC confentice championship, Peterson had this to say about his season “This is defintly a great learning expecnce. With Favre returning after his amazing season and me leading in rushing touchdowns, the future is bright”(Peterson) On September 10th 2011, the Viking signed Peterson for 96 million for seven seasons making him the highest paid running back in NFL history.
