Anxiety can end up becoming depression if they do not get it treated in time. Depression can happen when the person is constantly having anxiety related problems such as anxiety attacks and the constant feeling that they are not good enough for anything and everything they do. They may pretend to be happy by faking happiness while inside they are mentaling breaking down, ready to give up. Some can get by with faking, but some are lucky enough to have someone in their life that actually knows if they are okay or not. If they do not think they can not handle the constant fillings and they may decide suicide is their only way out from what they are feeling. Children may start showing signs of anxiety by crying, freezing, or even by throwing tantrums when their parents try to leave them alone or with another adult. The children get too emotionally attached to their parents and will over react. This type of anxiety is called separation anxiety. Many kids have this for a short period of time and will grow out of it by the age of 2. But some never actually grow out of it and it can go into the teenage years. “Separation anxiety would appear to be a core form of anxiety that is associated with anxious attachment. Nevertheless, as yet no research has examined the relationship of attachment styles to adult separation anxiety disorder, a condition that has only recently been fully recognized (Mohr)”.
Children can separation anxiety from becoming attached of an item such as a toy or stuffed animal. If the parents take the child 's toy for punishment, the kid am react in a such of way where the child will cry or throw a tantrum and will not calm down until they are given back their item. They take comfort from the item and will always have it around somewheres near them. They use it as a safety item to keep them calm and happy. Teenagers can suffer from separation anxiety also. Some teenagers can get really attached to a person, they may only talk about that person, they use the person as their own personal comfort or safety zone. When the person forgets about them, they go into a dark place where they believe that no one actually likes them and that they are losing their control and that all of their friends will do the same. Some people live in the fear that their friends and family will leave them and believe that everyone hates them. When one of their friends do decide that they are not good enough for them and leave, the person will start feeling like that they are the blame for this and may never actually let it out.
