The question that we, shopper’s get frequently asked is our preference of which bag to use-paper or plastic bags. It is likely that we would lean towards plastic bags mainly because of its durability, considering the weight of our purchases. But then, there’s always that nagging conscience of ours that makes us want to choose paper instead. Our guilty conscience tell us that it is better to use paper than plastics bags for they are environmentally-friendly . However, do the choices we make benefit our environment? Pause for a moment and think; paper is made from trees which are gradually decreasing in number as the days go by. So why are we producing more paper bags that require a vast amount of wood, when in the first place we are advocates of protecting our beloved trees? The decisions that we make must be carefully thought out if we want to help the environment. Choosing between paper and plastic isn’t as easy as it seems. As a matter of fact, a lot is to be considered that is more than what meets the eye. There has always been a constant battle between plastic and paper bags as to which can benefit our environment; but we believe that using plastic bags is better than using paper bags because it is environmentally-friendly in terms of its reusability, manufacturing and waste production.
