Taking English 090 in high school rather than the traditional sixteen week semester on a college campus has been a very good experience for me but it had its pros and cons. The advantage of taking this class is getting high school and college credit for my English class. This is not the only advantage of taking this class but it also reduce the costs of college education. Colleges and universities look for students who have taken college courses while in highschool to determine the scholarship award dollars. This will help me tremendously in school, I won’t have to worry about certain classes and I might even have the opportunity get enough money to pay any fees or some of my tuition. Although some colleges consider dual enrollment for credit, not all of them do this. For me, I’ll have to ask the college that I decide to go to if they consider transfer credit from dual enrollment. I wouldn’t want to go to a college that doesn’t consider this because I’d feel like I took dual enrollment for no reason. Another advantage dual enrollment gave me was, giving me a feel on what college coursework will actually be like. Dual-enrollment gave me taste of college coursework while still enjoying the safe confines of the high school environment.Some of the work was from home and online so I didn’t have much to worry about. This looks great on your high school transcript and helps you stand out for college admissions. Dual enrollment may not make sense if the same course is already being offered at the student’s high school. If the college course isn’t more in depth or of more value than what is already being offered at the highschool level, there’s no real
