Deb Kanya Initial Post Polit & Beck, (2012) describe Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) as an integration of clinical expertise, patient values, and the best research evidence. One of the more challenging aspects of EBP is the actual research on a particular topic. The fact is there is a multitude of journals and reviews etc. on any given subject; for this reason it is imperative that one knows how to conduct a proper search for pertinent information. Due to the complexity of literature searches and the amount of information available it is prudent to follow a guide while doing research.
What are the strengths, importance, and weaknesses of the study from your perspective?
P3 research: I will now compare different research methodologies for health and social care. There are two types of research that are commonly used when research projects are being taken out, which aim to benefit health and social care related services. These two types of research are called quantitative research and qualitative research. The difference between these two is how they collect the information they need in different way and use different kinds of sources, but both benefit the health system. Without research being carried out medical professionals/and laboratory scientists would not be able to provide us with improved medications that can improve our health.
Evidence based practice (EBP) is the incorporation of clinical expertise, patient values furthermore adding the greatest research evidence towards the decision-making method for the outstanding care of the patient. Traditionally, the patient care was made by the skills and beliefs of those involved in delivering treatment, now it has made a shift from traditional ways to EBP. On a daily basis the healthcare professionals seek answers to numerous clinical questions, an evidence-based approach helps them to access the best evidence to answer these questions and translate that into a clinical practice to improve patient care and
Qualitative Critical Appraisal In this paper, I will be performing a qualitative critical appraisal on the article called Expanding the scope of research with transition-age foster youth: applications of the social network perspective written by Jennifer Blakeslee. I will also come to a conclusion on whether or not I agree with the findings and if I believe it is useful in practice. Critical Reflection and Analysis Co-working a case through conducting direct work with an eight-year old girl, I used professional curiosity to explore an alarming self-disclosure made to me about her sleeping with a fifteen-year old boy, who was a non-relative.
