Adversity can be found in “The Most Dangerous Game” written by Richard Connell, and “The Sniper” by Liam O'Flaherty. In “The Most Dangerous Game”, adversity exists because it is about Rainsford, who is a hunter, getting put on a large island and meeting General Zaroff, who is also a hunter. General liked to hunt cunning animals, but he could not find one cunning enough for him; so he began to train people to hide.
