The ethical issues in this dilemma are intimidating behavior, conflicts of interest, and sexual harassment. The intimidating behavior is from demonstrated by Curtis. Curtis intimidated Jackie by telling her, her singing career starts with him. If she does not do want he wanted her to do then her singing career would be over before it started. He tarnishes her name and her talent within the music industry. This causes an issue for Jackie not to start on her album, get any radio time, or for any producers to work with her. Bullying is associated with a hostile workplace where someone (or group) considered a target is threatened, harassed, belittled, verbally abused, or overly criticized (Ferrell, Fraerich, & Ferrell, 2013). This cause a conflict of interest with Jackie and Curtis. The conflict of interest began when Jackie started an intimate relationship with her manager. Jackie should have kept her relationship with Curtis business only. To avoid conflicts of interest, employees must be able to separate their private interests from their business dealings (Ferrell, Fraerich, Ferrell, 2013). The conflict of interest caused a problem at her place of employment. Sexual Harassment was another ethical issue. Curtis made sexual advances toward Jackie several times during studio time and on the phone. Sexual harassment can be defined as any repeated, unwanted behavior of a sexual nature perpetrated upon one individual by another (Ferrell, Fraerich, Ferrell, 2013). It made Jackie so uncomfortable that she reported it to human resources, but she does not get any
