African Americans have been oppressed for over 340 years, by the white community. African Americans have fought endlessly for their rights to give them justice, but the Clergy believe it to be “unwise and untimely” (P.3). They feel the need to tell African Americans to wait, not considering how harmful it is to them. MLk responds to the Clergymen, by giving reasons on why they can’t wait to have equality and justice.
