Immigrant nurses should be up to date on their immunizations and how to follow the US's laws and regulations. Where they come from will help employers do some research on how much the nurses know and the differences between their country's laws and regulations. I do think it is a tad bit disappointing that there is currently a shortage on nurses but I am not worried.
Chapter 4: What Nurses Did in the South Before the Civil War, women south served as the nurses to their immediate families only.
