Dame Agatha Christie is a well-known British author that has written many mysteries novels over her many years of being an author. Agatha was born in Torquay, Devon, England, United Kingdom on September 15,1890. Agatha was the youngest of her mother’s three children. Agatha did not necessarily have a rich family, but her family was wealthy enough to live without worry. She taught herself how to read at the age of five. She also learned to play the mandolin and piano at her house. Agatha enjoyed many activities as a child. She played with her brothers and sisters as fictional characters. Guyers Girls School in Torquay. Unfortunately, she was not able to finish her studies. After her not completing her last school she got another opportunity in 1905. This opportunity brought her to Paris, France. In Paris she studied vocals and piano. Her studying piano and vocals did not please her as much as writing. In her first short story called “The House of Beauty” it described a world of madness and dreams. She continued writing short stories. She still wanted to do more. She wanted to write. Her first novel was called Snow Upon the Desert. She sent this novel to a publishing company. She finally got her chance to publish a real book. Sadly, the publishing company rejected her. She did not want to give up her dreams of being a writer one day. As she could not see the positive, more negative came. A tragedy struck. World War one was taking Europe by storm. She immediately put down writing and went to serve her country. She worked at a voluntary aid detachment. The first year of this horrible tragedy she got married to a man by the name of Colonel Archibald Christie. Archie as she called him was stationed in France. They got married on the afternoon of Christmas eve 1914. During the time after her marriage she spent all her time at this hospital. She helped work on injured soldiers from the war. She worked at this horrible place from 1914 to 1916. She spent these years spending 3,400 hours of unwaged
