The Age of Adaline
What is a great movie? I believe that there is no universal answer to this question. People like different movies just as they like different songs or cars. However, there is always a list of a must see films. It is based on the most popular movies of the year. In many cases movies from that list are really good, but The Age of Adaline is a great one. Intriguing and engaging plot, amazing cast, and relatable characters made it my top one choice of 2015.
The Age of Adaline is an American epic romance fantasy film. It was directed by Lee Toland Krieger, a comparatively unknown director at the time of the film’s shooting. The good movie should answer all main questions and explain the main events, so The Age of Adalinecan be considered as a film with the good script. It was written by J. Mills Goodloe and Salvador Paskowitz. There are two main love stories, which are connected to each other. The first one, the relationships of Adaline and Ellis, takes place in the 21st century. The second one happened in the 1960s with Adaline and William Jones, the father of Ellis Jones. Their story is shown through memories of Adaline and William. It is very hard to underestimate the role of Adaline in William’s life: he never forgot her, he never stopped admiring her, he never stopped loving her, but I believe that it was not the true love, because later he met Kathy, who was “love of my life, mate of my soul, mother of my lovely children”. Goodloe and Paskowitz did a great job while writing the dialogues in the flashbacks.They managed to show a wide range of emotions by using only words.
