Macbeth views himself as an agent of fate, and any wrongdoing he does, he does is in the name of fate. As the play continues the faster he acts in regards to violence starting with the killing of king Duncan down to Banquo. At the beginning of the play Macbeth is a respected servant to the king, a loyal husband, and an unwavering subject to the king. The witches first' predictions draw out his evil/ambitious nature, however he battles within himself in regards to killing king Duncan. By assaulting his masculinity, lady Macbeth persuades him to kill Duncan and furthermore head down the path of evil. Being an agent of fate in Macbeths mind led him to kill for the crown and the same fate will lead Banquo's bloodline to the same crown. Throughout the play Macbeth bases his decisions on prophecy and fate, this is highlighted when he sees the witches to learn his fate, they tell him “be bloody, bold and resolute; laugh to scorn/the power of man, for none born of a women born/shall harm Macbeth” . Macbeth goes through two fazes and in the majority of the play they are intertwined. The human form as shown in the ambitions of Macbeth and the supernatural as shown in the form of the witches and the prophecies they foretell. Macbeth is biased when interpreting the information given to him by the witches. He speeds up the prophecies of himself becoming king, he sees himself as an agent of fate. However on the over hand, Macbeth plans to kill Banquo and his children, Macbeth sees himself as an agent of fate, and through fate he believes he can pick and choose what suits best for
