The vietnam war impacted the United states in some good ways but mostly bad. There was a lot of chemicals used during the war. There War tear gas, Chlorine Phosgene and Diphosgene also there was mustard gas lastly there was mustard gas. These chemicals can be deadly and harmful. What is agent orange? Agent orange was widely known for U.S Military. Agent orange was used to eliminate forest cover and crops for North Vietnamese and vietcong troops. Agent orange made it possible for U.S troops to find the Vietcong hideouts and to find them. For the longest time chemicals were used for the war until we realized that the Agent Orange was killing children and women slowly and painfully so we stopped using Agent Orange. As more and more troops were being sent to vietnam only to be hurt or killed and more and more people were joining the movement against the war. Included in this movement were now veterans who went as far as throwing away any medals they had got during their time fighting in the war. A end to this war was nowhere in sight but neither where the protests. Society saw the hippies as a rebellious group. The hippies were known as lawbreakers. Clothing throughout the vietnam war in the 1960’s bell bottom pants decorated felt poodle skirts, and blue jeans inspired by James Dean became fairly popular. They were often worn with cultured army style jackets. Accompanied by pointed toe stiletto heels, blue suede loafers, and saddle shoes. There hair would be styled in a pony tail for girls and a crew cut or flat top for the boys. But theres also been penty of art about the war created in Vietnam, including flims, songs, sculptures and painting. During the war, artists were sent to take part in the war effort, not purely as artists, they would draw and paint between fighting. In many cases the portraits were the only time some of the soldiers, men and women ever had there likeness taken. So they kept it to themselves as a momento to give to their families and loved ones if they were to die in battle. That's why you don’t see no blood no suffering in the paintings. they were meant to record a happier moment not a moment of destruction.
