Michael Jordan is one of the greatest NBA basketball players of all time. He also is sponsored by one of the best sneaker lines ever created. Air Jordan have been loved by millions of people ever since the day they first came out. Since Air Jordans like the Air Jordan I are valued by so many people today, they have been able to take the sneaker community by storm, and some of the rare Air Jordans have even sold for thousands of dollars. In 1984, Nike offered Michael Jordan a 2.5 million dollar contract for 5 years. Michael at first did not want to do the deal because all of his childhood he grew up wearing Adidas shoes. The shoes were banned by the NBA regarding shoe restrictions. The NBA fined Michael 5,000 dollars each time he wore a pair in a game. Even though it was a ridiculous amount of money, Nike gladly payed the fine.(Footlocker.com) This also created a bunch of buzz around the shoe. After a couple years of selling the Air Jordan I, Nike earned roughly around 130 million dollars off of sales.
