Who is Nefertiti? Some might say she is the loving wife of Akhenaten, some might say she was the most power hungry and ambitious person. The story, Akhenaten: Dweller in Truth by Naguib Mahfouz, takes place in ancient Egypt when Akhenaten held the throne. Throughout the book, there are many discrepancies regarding the personality of Nefertiti. In my opinion, Nefertiti is the most insidious person and all she really wanted was power for her.

Hi Amarilys, I think you did a good job with your thread. I like how you stated what each assumption is, and then, proceeded to explain each one, in detail. I feel as though, it helped to understand each assumption, better. Also, regarding the ways you stay motivated, I, too, like to make lists, to help me stay on track. With so many distractions, it can be hard to remember what needs to be done, but with making a list, you are able to remind yourself of those things.

In the book “Two Kinds” by Amy Tan, it’s about a little girl who is pressured by her mother to become something she doesn’t want to be. Jing- mei , the daughter, is forced to become a prodigy(child actress), by her mother, and she doesn’t want to be one. In the story, Jing- meis’ mother uses allusions such as Shirley Temple to push her into becoming a prodigy. Although at first Jing- mei is excited to become a prodigy, she later realizes its something she just doesn’t enjoy doing. Consequently, the uses of allusion in the story help Jing- mei discover to not be a prodigy and that what her mother wants for her is not always important.
Adelina Amouteru, the main character of The Young Elites Novels, develops throughout the books as a villain affected by various known forces of society. The girl’s past involves discrimination from the world and even her family. All the bad influence as a child leads her to fight for one of the good forces of society, justice. “The ways in which the characters in Lorraine Hansberry’s play, A raisin in the sun, are affected by racial imbalances and respond to the injustices engendered by such inequities are solely influenced by their gender.” I agree with this statement to an extent. Although it is correct that gender plays a big role in this play, there are other factors to consider. Context:

This quote, from Okay for Now wrought by Gary Schmidt, represents that relationships can start at any time over many things. According to the book, many times relationships with people help Doug and many other characters.
