During this time period, Al Capone was the master of selling illegal drugs, controlling brothels, and tax evasion conviction. Born in 1899, Alphonse Capone’s family migrated from Italy to the city of Brooklyn. Growing up, his family was extremely poor. Scraping up what they could for their children. Alphonse wanted to help his family, so from there he almost immediately hopped into gang violence. Starting at creating and selling drugs to expanding to organized assassinations, the gang hit the radios almost daily. In a recent study by Compton Education, “the Five Point Gang started as dated back to the 1800’s” (8). Back then, people were beginning to become fascinated with gangs and the notorious gangsters. The Five Point Gang was very clever, controlled numerous brothels, gambled at the most luxurious places, and took over most of Brooklyn to earn all of their money. They used their money to hire the finest hitmen and to create drugs and other recreationals. The hitmen were hired to find, and assassin, rival gang bosses. Such as the Dead Rabbits and Bugs Moran. Meaning that Capone’s mark hit so hard no matter what will happen, he will always show through. One of his most known marks was when he defied the odds and ran many small gangs along the nation. Sure, Capone was mainly known for The Five Point Gang. But, gangs such as the James Street Gang helped rise street violence and the numbers of crimes. Many cultures revolved around these groups.
