Al Gore continues to live an interesting life with several different accomplishments in different fields. Gore has a successful background behind him. He is a native to Tennessee. Gore served as the 45th vice president of the United States under President Bill Clinton from 1992 to 2000. Previously, he had been in the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate. In a presidential bid against George W. Bush in 2000, Gore faces failure and lost the bid. Seven years late, he won a Nobel Prize for his work to raise awareness of global warming. After accepting his award, he urged China and the U.S., who are the world’s largest carbon producers, to take a move on climate change. It is said that Gore shared the Nobel Prize with Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), which is an organization who helped spread awareness about global warming and various ways to counteract it. Another organization, now known as the Climate Reality Project, was donated $1.6 million from Gore who is devoted on taking action on the recent climate change issues. After his political experience, Gore published many books some of which include: The Future: Six Drivers of Global Change (2013), and Earth in the Balance: Forging a New Common Purpose (2013). He also launched the Deep Space Climate Observatory satellite (DSCOVR). This camera can monitor specific wavelengths that give certain information to scientists like ozone levels, aerosols, volcanic ash, etc. This current year, Gore also appeared at a TED conference presenting “The Case of Optimism on Climate Change”.
