: Joseph Frederick a high school student filed suit in District Court under 42 U.S.C. §1983, alleging violation of his First Amendment rights by the school board and Deborah Morse, the principal of his high school. The District Court granted summary judgment for the school board and Morse. Frederick appealed to the Ninth Circuit and the District Court’s decision was reversed. Morse appealed and Certiorari was granted. Facts: On January 24, 2002 the Olympic Torch Relay passed through Juneau, Alaska while school was in session.
Chino Hills High ASB is a well-recognized organization not only by students and staff at CHHS, but by programs like the California Association of Student Leaders. A select group of students from Chino Hills High ASB attended a conference put on by CASL, and for the past 11 years Chino Hills High ASB has won the Outstanding Leadership Program Award. The group of students who accepted this award on behalf of the CHHS Leadership program were Caleb Andrews, Bradley Mautz, Adam Cullen, Tessa Grotz, Mitchell Matthews, Josh Stroup, Alex Ro, Tanner Schroder, Audrey Johnstone, and Gullian Dyker. At the conference this year, Adam Cullen, the ASB President for the upcoming 2017-2018 school year, was elected to be on the board for the California Association of Student Leaders as a Southern Director.

Shannon Carter, is about a student who is entering the 9th grade and diagnosed with ADHD (attention deficit hyperactive disorder) and Dyslexia. Prior to entering high school Shannon Carter did not have an IEP or a 504 plan. Her parents began the process in high school to help their daughter learn to read, at this time Shannon was diagnosed as she was functionally illiterate. Shannon’s family was upset that the school was doing more to help their daughter be able to perform on grade level. Shannon’s parents began a due process because they felt that the school was not doing enough to assure she was reading on grade level by graduation.

(SCOTUS February 24, 1969), students wore black armbands to school to display their disgust for the Vietnam War. Joseph Yelich is currently the superintendent of schools for the Oneonta City School District. Before coming to Oneonta, Joe was instrumental in building relationships with the colleges near his town with the local high school by creating a program that enabled students to take college courses while attending high school. This has been what he has been working on since he arrived at Oneonta. It is clear that his mission was to eventually give students the opportunity to graduate high school with either a college degree or credits that are accepted at any SUNY school.

Gisselle Zepeda Mr. Lievre American Government Credit 5 Board of Education of Westside Community Schools Versus Mergens The Equal Access Act upheld by the Supreme Court in Board of Education v. Mergens, 1990, requires public secondary schools to allow access to religiously based student groups on the same basis as other student clubs. The school administration denied a group of students their right to create a Christian after school club. The students intended for their club to have just the same privileges and club meetings as all other after school clubs. The schools excuse being that it lacked faculty support which led to the school and district being sued by the students.
Texas is an immense state itself, with problems left and right and not a solution to many of them. The city of Brownsville is often forgotten and not given much attention when it comes to economic issues regarding the education level. Education in Brownsville might not be superior to other schools in the North because they an advantageous education system considering their rich economy. The BISD (Brownsville Independent School District) school organization is often criticized on the criteria of the low economic status the people of Brownsville obtain.
When it comes to interpreting the Constitution there are two main school of thoughts. While the “Strict interpretation” school of thought interprets the Constitution as black and white the ladder which is called “Loose interpretation” interprets the Constitution in a more open-ended way. These two school of thoughts originated, due to Alexander Hamilton’s attempt to create a national bank. As many of you know, I have devoted much of my time and effort into making ASA the best it can be. This sorority has given me some of my best friends, leadership opportunities, life skills, and amazing unforgettable experiences. Now it is time for me to give back to the sorority that has given so much to me. I joined this sorority during my freshman year and knew it was my forever home. I held tightly to my sisters as we were placed on probation.

Malcolm’s purpose on this earth was to influence African Americans to take effect on the injustice being served by American government. Prison took a big impact on the way of his thoughts of his beliefs which soon started to develop once becoming active in Nation of Islam. Malcolm became a big activist leader, who influenced many people which is why his name will forever live in history.
