“Sometimes it is the people no one imagines anything of who do the things that no one can imagine.” (Alan Turing Quote). June 23, 1912, in London, England. A date that is known as one of the greatest mathematician's birthday. Alan Turing's. Turing was a genius. His love for math and science helped him reach tremendous goals. Including creating the first computer, and helping win a war. Therefore, Alan Turing is the obvious choice to be put on the stamp; he helped triumph WW ll, battled through diversity, and changed the world.
To start, “Alan Turing was responsible for breaking the Nazi Enigma code during World War II. His work gave the Allies the edge they needed to win the war in Europe,” (Jacobson). Alan Turing was a man with many accomplishments. …show more content…

Alan Turing massively changed the world. That is a great way. Turing's creation of the first computer has shaped the world we live in today. Computers have helped everyone. For example, in 2019 everyone had to be quarantined. If it weren’t for Alan Turing, students wouldn’t be able to learn. Leaving a massive gap in this generation's intelligence. Also, computers have settled many questions that people have. Curing curiosity and boredom throughout the entire world. “Turing test, to determine whether a machine could imitate human conversation. It became a foundational part of the field of artificial intelligence” (Aron). Alan Turing was so advanced for his time. He was already thinking about artificial intelligence. He had the image of a robot responding to orders and having human feelings. It’s still impacting the world today by scientists using his method. “Turing's machines were cracking a staggering 84,000 Enigma messages each month” (Copeland). This quote shows two pieces of evidence. How he helped win the war and changed it. This helps show that Alan Turing changed the world by helping win the war. If Alan hadn’t made the Bombe the Allies couldn’t decode the Nazi's messages. If the Allies couldn’t hear the Nazi’s conversations then the Nazis could have won the war or at least made the war drag out for several more years. Who knows what the world would be like …show more content…

Some say that Alan Turing should have never been accepted by people. Due to his sexuality. This further helps show that Alan Turing is very strong. Battling through this level of diversity. “She figured out the paths for the spacecraft to orbit (go around) Earth and to land on the Moon.” (May). Katherine Johnson helped NASA with her mathematics. She helped them land a man on the moon. This doesn't quite live up to Alan Turing’s Accomplishments though. Turing saved millions of lives with his mathematics. And help save the Allies millions of dollars. Katherine faced diversity throughout her life. Katherine Johnson faced multiple challenges. While she worked for NASA. She couldn’t put her name on her work. Since she was a woman. Katherine has battled threw great battles with diversity, but Alan Turing went through even greater battles. They lead him to
