Alcatraz Escape In June of 1962 Frank Morris and the Anglin brothers escaped Alcatraz. They carved a hole in their prison stales to escape and to do that, it took a couple of months to get big enough for their bodies to be able to fit. After they escaped behind the bars, they had to climb on top of the roof and then they had to climb down a pipe to get down to the water. When they got to the water they pulled out the man made raft that they made out of rain coats.
