1. Introduction Aldi is a food retailer which started as a family business in Germany in 1913. Since then Aldi has successfully spread around 3 continents divided into two independent companies: Aldi Nord and Aldi Süd. Aldi in Australia is under Aldi Süd company (Audi n.d.) and opened its first store in Australia in 2001 and at the date has already over 400 stores around Australia in NSW, ACT, Queensland and Victoria. Aldi has also started to established stores in South Australia and Western Australia (Aldi n.d.).
