Alexander Gray Turner: A Son that Murdered His Parents Description On Friday, March 6th, 2015, Carrie Daley Turner (age 52) and Steven Gray Turner (age 61) were found dead from gunshot wounds in room 1208 at Landmark Hotel, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The murderer was none other than the couple’s son, Alexander Gray Turner (age 23), and it was suspected that his girlfriend, Chelsi Lelia Griffin (age 19), may have also played a part in their death. Their death was suspected to have resulted from a domestic dispute as the North Carolina couple had recently moved from Durham to Roxboro to see their son. He then moved to a halfway house in North Myrtle Beach while he was completing a PTSD rehabilitation program through Wilmington Treatment Center. He graduated from the program and moved in with Chelsi at the Cove apartments near Coastal Carolina University. Days before he murdered his parents, Alexander and Chelsi and stopped at Surfside Beach and he was detained at 9:44am with unlawful carrying of a pistol and possession of the drug paraphernalia and was released at 5:10pm from the Reuben Long Detention Center on a $3,592.50 bail. The two had stopped at a gas station when a police officer went over because they appeared to be lost but soon smelled a very strong odour of marijuana and found guns lying in plain view inside the car. The police officer found that Chelsi’s license was suspended in Virginia and they both had drugs on them. Carrie and Steven Turner were previous owners of the Mayo Marina Mart in Roxboro until they sold the business and moved to the beach because their house burned down while they were on a cruise. Durham police are investigating this case. They were mother and father to Turner as well as a financial support, and it was likely the motive for the murder was because they had cut Alexander off financially.
