Hamilton is a very popular name today. One can’t not notice the buzz about the Broadway production of Hamilton, which illustrates Alexander Hamilton’s dedication to his country and how he never gave up in the face of injustice. Hamilton wanted to be remembered as someone who did something great. Even though he didn’t know that later there would be a Broadway production about his life, he wanted to do great things for the cause of independence in the United States. Hamilton was known as “the bastard brat of a scottish peddler” (Alexander Hamilton Biography), but he didn’t let that bring him down. Hamilton knew that he wanted to fight for his independence. Within two years of his 1773 arrival in America, war had indeed broken out, and Hamilton quickly joined the effort (Alexander and George). Alexander wanted to fight, when he joined George Washington's staff in 1777, where he remained until february of 1781 (ALEXANDER HAMILTON), he thought that he was going to be able to fight. He thought that he was going to be able to fight for what he wanted, and believed he could win. “Growing restless in his desk job, in 1781, Hamilton convinced Washington to let him taste some action on the battlefield. With Washington's permission, Hamilton led a victorious charge against the British in the Battle of Yorktown.” (Alexander Hamilton Biography). Alexander took charge and fought for what he wanted, he defended Thomas Jefferson against Aaron Burr, and then he died challenging Burr. He was so loved and honored by people. “Alexander Hamilton Was the father of the National Banking System. He created the First National Bank,...” (USHistory). Hamilton was someone great. Although his education was brief, he still began working between 11 and 13 years old (Encyclopedia). That is something great. Hamilton was also important during the First Political Party. He was considered the virtual “Prime Minister” of George Washington’s leadership (Encyclopedia). Alexander Hamilton was determined to be great, and to be remembered. After the war ended in 1783, Hamilton left his spot working as George Washington's adviser, and started to study law (Alexander Hamilton
