The Wars of Alexander the Great were bloody, gory and brutal. People say that these wars were worth the chaos, but no one knew about Alexander’s darker side. He possessed a ferocious temper and from time to time would arbitrarily murder close advisers and even friends; however, Alexander the Great was able to get Macedonian citizens many things that helped the economy. The Wars of Alexander the Great were worth the destruction and and chaos it caused because it gave Macedonia bigger trading routes, more land, and more power. The Wars of Alexander the Great may have been chaotic and full of destruction, but it gave Macedonia bigger trading routes. When a country wins a war, they are able get more trading routes. More trading routes can ge them other necessities and more resources, and that could get Macedonian people more money. All of this land that they acquired in the wars that they won gave Alexander more land and this land gives more power. Land gave Alexander more power because without a place to rule, then there isn’t any power to have. Alexander the Great conquered six places: Persia, Egypt, Syria, Mesopotamia, Bactria, and the Punjab. Each of these places joined the Macedonian Empire, giving him more land to rule, as well as the empires and city-states that his father; King Philip II of Macedon. The power that Alexander had, was created by all of the places that he and his father had conquered. The power that Alexander had got him stronger armies, because everyone listened to the king, no one could not do what the king said because that is against laws and punishments would be given. Stronger armies also can get you more land which means you can get more money with the growth of crops. Also wit stronger armies, Alexander can use his phalanx strategy and his smart tactics to defeat larger armies than the Persian
