Alfred Hitchcock’s “Psycho” setting took place in Phoenix, Arizona around the year 1960. Hitchcock took a stand by leading the film industry into a direction that would alter the course of filming forever as “Psycho” is ranked one of the best films of all time! Hitchcock did this to get the audience uncomfortable and scared he did this to himself too while putting what scared him most into his own movie. Before the filming began not everyone agreed with the way the movie was making out and how gory and odd it was going to be, but Alfred kept his mindset and went through with it without anyone else ruining it. He was born in London, England, on August 13, 1899, he was raised by very strict religious parents. When Alfred was young his life, mostly contained horrendous things like his father making him go to the police station with a note saying that he was misbehaving that day with the cops knowing that they decided to put him in a cell for 10 min for misbehaving because of this he had a long fear of the police and would do anything to avoid them. His mom was in on the punishments too, as she would make him sit at the base of his bed for hours on end as a punishment. Around 1920 he started working at Famous Players-Lasky Company. He worked in that location for several years designing title cards for short films. While he was working there he gained inside knowledge on how to be a great director of motion pictures. When Hitchcock gained this information he wanted to produce his own movies and left his home in Hollywood. Alfred Hitchcock’s first film is named “Rebecca” it won an academy award for best film. Alfred knew this was a great achievement and a good start in his calling. His career made people’s lives what they are today, which is to analyze his work to the core to see if Alfred Hitchcock is really the man behind the movie or someone else. The career that would captivate millions and be leaving movies to see for generations to
