Alfred Hitchcock, a famous filmmaker, has been named the “Master of Suspense” Why is that? He got this name because of his development of many elements of suspense and psychological genres. Alfred Hitchcock was born on August 13, 1899 in London, United Kingdom. Hitchcock was born into a strict Catholic household. His childhood was lonesome, partially being because of his obesity. He was often wrongly accused, or treated poorly. His father once sent him to the police station to be locked up for 10 minutes for bad behaviour. These classics made him well known all over the world. Soon he left for Hollywood in 1939, where he made his first American film, Rebecca. The movie won an Academy Award for best picture.
