Alfred Hitchcock Over the decades, there have been many film directors who have made thousands of movies. There are comedies, romances, and action movies, to name a few. But, when you think of psychological thrillers or deep dark themes movies, there is only one director who comes to mind. This would be Alfred Hitchcock. Alfred Hitchcock made approximately fifty movies over six decades that are very unique in style and content to only him. Hitchcock uses references to Michelangelo’s The Pieta in his movie Topaz and the surrealism of Dali in Spellbound. Hitchcock was also known to set scenes in very artistic settings, such as the Berlin Museum in the movie Torn Curtain. Catholic symbolism was also used in the movie Topaz, with a scene of a character’s death by torture, which was like a modern day Pieta. …show more content…
