Black Lives Matter and All Lives Matter both contain meanings and method that the other doesn’t agree with. In 2013, Patrisse Cullors, Opal Tometi, and Alicia Garza created Black Lives Matter as a response and exposure to the injustice and treatment black people experience in America. Not to mention, black people fear they won’t be to accomplish anything while black (Rankine). Black people don’t receive the justice they deserve, such as Trayvon Martin. After the Black Lives Matter founders started the hashtag, the phrase “expand[ed]... beyond a social media hashtag” and enter the streets (blacklivesmatter.com). The All Lives Matter phrase started sometime after Black Lives Matter, no evidence shows when it actually commenced, but the All Lives Matter FaceBook page began sometime in 2015. In their About section, their mission is “to bring peace and love to this country” (All Lives Matter). The founders of this page want to promote change and create a better environment. The main actions presented by this page is sharing photos that either goes against Black Lives Matter or praises someone who contributes to others. While one main action they promise is buying cameras for police officers “that patrol in [at-risk] communities, and for officers who could be a risk or has had recent complaints filed against them” (All Lives Matter). This measure is made to protect the people of a certain community. Not only does All Lives Matter has a FaceBook page, but also supporters of ALM create artwork to show why ALM is needed. With the FB page and some artworks, a religious connection is made. On the FB page, it’s header depicts Psalm 139:1-18 while artworks list many passages, including Galatians 3:28, James 2:2 and Leviticus
