The author is trying to tell us something with man and society in this book. What he tries telling us is that all of us human beings we should all have rules we gotta respect and follow and most importantly to have a safe environment we all can live happy and in peace. Throughout everything the boys has truly struggled to try to survive with food and so what they call “beast”. At first when the boys ascend on the island they got there as a group, team, family, but the more days passed they lost hope of getting rescued. Jack and Ralph later become enemies in the story and start competing to see who gets the boys which are the slaves. Before the boys chose who wants their leader to be, the conch was a symbolic meaning, it was something that had power over them and had to obey. But eventually, Jack acts like the most powerful of everyone and becomes leader of all the boys. Golding uses allegory to compare death and war.
