Allyson Felix has worked hard to get where she has gotten. Since high school, she has been running her best and has continuously been improving. Allyson has broken multiple world and personal records. She has won an impressive amount of awards for her natural ability to sprint. Initially, Allyson runs the 100m, 200m and the 400m. She also has run as a member of the Olympic 4x100m and 4x400m relays. Allyson Felix has shown that she is truly dedicated to her sport. Throughout the years she has become an inspiration to sprinters and has had an amazing career.

She has shown that doing your best, running naturally, and being yourself can help influence others. “For me, it's really the youth. I feel that's where it starts, when you are able to reach the kids and give them the message that you can do things clean and also that everyone is going to have a different journey”(The New York Times, 2015). Allyson began her professional career amidst a drug scandal involving the United States’ track and field team; however she was seen as a savior since she runs clean.“ I understand where people are coming from when they make the comparison, and I take that as a compliment. . . But I also want to be something different. I'm my own person.”(Contemporary Black Biography, 2014). Allyson Felix has had an impressive sprinting career from the start. Being the only freshman that year proved to everyone that she had a natural running ability. During high school, she won multiple state titles and improved her time. Soon after high school, Allyson participated for the U.S. Olympic track and field team during the 2004 Olympics in Athens. “. . . many predicted that Allyson Felix would win a medal in the 200-meter dash. True to form, she took the silver. . .”(Contemporary Black Biography, 2014). Since then, Allyson Felix has competed in many other professional races. She has run in the World Outdoor several times as well as the Beijing, London and Rio Olympics and many other meets. With her first Olympics in 2004, Felix did not win an individual gold medal until the London Olympics in 2012. “ . . . she zeroed in on the chance, at 26, to win her first individual Olympic gold medal. . . . finally, she did, holding off a great field of American and Jamaican sprinters to win the gold medal in the women's 200.”(USA Today, August 9, 2012).
