First of all, some people that come to the Alpha are homeless people or addicts. They receive care through talking it out and going to different programs the house has set up, but they still have to choose to make a difference in their own lives and others. In the movie, Tony received help and advice from his friends after he was kidnapped, but he made the final decision himself. He took responsibility for his actions and did what he thought was right. For both these examples, it wasn’t just the individuals trying to make a new life for themselves, but first, they had to trust the surrounding people to help them succeed. Tony Stark had to trust that his friends would be there for him, and the people going to the Alpha house needed to think about if they even wanted to go there and trust the volunteers could help them.
